Trucker - legitimate?

I am trying to get a tractor from Iowa to North Dakota. My wife took a call this morning from Tim Walton, 402-322-1555, from central Nebraska. Anyone know if he is legitimate? Has any experience with him? He claims to advertise in a couple of magazines.

you may have to look/read old posts in trans, there is a lot of responces to a few people who needed transport of tractors, with a lot of responces to names/numbers of people who were scammers...unless some one else responds with info to save your time looking

What is his DOT and MC number.
If he can not give you BOTH of these he is not licensed and may not be insured to haul your tractor.

A guy that goes threw the trouble to be licensed will have proper insurance and can usually be trusted to be a good carrier.

Even if 10 people tell you they have used this guy and he was straight up with them; you may be the guy he is hauling for when he has his first major accident. If he is unlicensed and or uninsured you just became the first unsatisfied customer.

Once he gives you his DOT number you can look him up at the link below.

Could it of been Jim instead of Tim? I know there is a Jim Walton out near western nebraska that hauls, ive heard decent things about him. Reasonable but not might take his time so depends if your in a hurry or not.

Yes, I found out that it is Jim Walton. He is reasonable - quoted $2.50 per loaded mile. He said that it would be a couple of weeks - that works for me. Thanks!
