Onan Generator

Just picked up a Onan 6.5 nhd-fb/1m from a box truck and the engine end sets a lot lower than the generator end when the truck was level. Is this correct or should I level the unit? The picture shows it on my table and you can see the tilt in the frame.
Also do they make a propane conversion kit for it.

Don't look right maybe the engine mounts have deteriorated..

I spec you could buy a kit are roll your own to run LP...

Looks like the rubber vibration isolating mounts have given away. Ethanol may have dissolved them.

Yup, blame it on ethanol. How would it get to the rubber mount? I would guess more likely old age and vibration. I have been using e-10 in EVERY engine I have and have yet to have a problem.

That is the way they set. The fan shroud likes to be only about an inch off the base

Those do sit at an angle. You should be able to move it slightly. It should move while cranking then smooth out while running.

There may still be some conversion kits out there. I can check. U S carbs should have someting.
