Name of a type of gate hinges

What do you call the kind of gate hinges in which the piece on the gate---a strap on a wooden gate or a clamp on a cyclone fence gate---is formed into a vertical hole into which the pin on the gatepost is inserted? The "pin" as I called it is usually an upright cylinder about half an inch in diameter (more or less) and about an inch high. It may be at the end of, and at a right angle to, a threaded shaft which screws into a wooden post, or part of a clamp which bolts onto a metal post.

This is an annoying problem which happens fairly often to me. I would like to research something but I don't know what it is called. It's hard to begin researching something that you don't know the name of.

kcm.MN; Yes, further down on the page which that link led to was the part of the hinge which goes on a metal gate. That led me to the other part which is called a pin, or a pintle, (or a gate bolt hook?). Thanks.

I saw all kinds of hinges on the link that would work fine for small little walk through gates. I would like to find hinges that will not need to be fastened to the pole or post by putting a hole through it. More like a clamping bracket that has some adjustment. It also needs to be able to hold 10-20 foot long heavy cattle gates. Made out of 3x6/8 inch planks for loading/ holding cattle. The gates will probably weight around 300-500 pounds. Currently we have made them. It is time consuming and not really cheaper maybe. We have used channels with pieces welded to them, bolted to the side of poles for some, and made brackets that went around the pole with a couple of bolts to hold them for others.

Maybe, what you are looking for might be found under the heading of chain-link fencing, or hurricane fencing, or security fencing?
