J B Weld Kwik

There are more than one type of J.B. Weld. If you read the information provide on the package it will tell you which one will work, might be
Marine type. I have used it on a diesel tank and it has held for over five years.

If using on a plastic gas tank, don't waste your time. Seems to work OK with metal though. Like others have said, I think there's one that's better for use with fuel than the others.

Lasted on bottom of my Ford 960
gas tank for a year. Cleaned it
off , cleaned the spot really good
, scuffed it up some , new JB weld
and it ain't leaking after 2
years. Prep is the key!!

I just used Permatex brand gas tank repair on my 8n Ford gas tank, it did great and no leaks so far. I got the surface clean and mixed the two epoxy's together and stuck it on there, left it alone overnight and checked the next day for leaks. I also used a piece of that Flex Tape over the spot for added protection, as sticky as that stuff is it may last from now on!!

I've used it with good results.

One method, for a pin hole in a tank with gas still in it, put a tight fitting oring around a sheet metal screw, run the screw in just enough to stop the flow, sand the surface around the screw, then embed it in JB Weld.

If you want to do tank right take it off clean it around leak area and the inside of tank. Seal around leak with Jb weld and let it cure and
then line tank with Red Kote . You will not any problems after that.
