Update on my Patreon login issue!!

I have tried what little I know to do. Today I got on my wife's laptop and was able to log right in. So it is some setting or program that is making my computer not acceptable to Patreon's security. I have sent Patreon two emails to their help desk. I have not gotten any replies form them. The first was over a week ago. They do not have a phone number to call. They also do not list what their systems requires from your computer to login. It has always been slow to get logged in to their site from my computer. My wife's laptop went right to the login page in seconds.

I just did all the updates my computer needed. I have gone through all the programs I use and they are working again. I hate doing updates as then I have to change the setting on some of my programs to get them to work correctly again.

IF I do a system restore to a point before my issues with Patreon will that delete the updates I just did???

P.S. I am really wondering if my anti virus program is causing the issue. It has always automatically up dated. It does seem a security issue with Patreon too. I am kind of at a loss at what to do. I can work around it by using my wife's computer and downloading what I want and then email it to my computer.

JD I tried to access the Patreon login page with Internet Explorer 11
after I read your other post and I could not get in. I used
my Firefox browser and got right in. I think a lot of secure
web sites do not like Internet Explorer.

It sounds like you have issues of aging.
Older system older techniques.
I have not run an antivirus program in over a year. I allow windows defender and it's ever diligent updating to protect me.

Most of "once was", is different today. Very few "viruses" will ever make it through gmail servers.
Chrome is as proactive as is windows 10
perhaps it's as simple as dilligent standards today that see's your older system unsecure by their standards
perhaps you have hidden malware ready to pounce as you come knocking on their door and they want no part of it

between your loggin problems and all the %#$@#@@##$$ instead of apostrophes here
I guess it's just aging issues sure to gather at an old farm tractor sight

Its been more then once I couldn't log in or get a site to operate properly using Internet Explorer, but when I switched to Google Chrome THEY ALL WORKED ??????? I have BOTH browsers installed so I have the option.

One other thing to try is check on Tools, Compatibility View Settings, and Add the site which sometimes cures the problem !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too was able to get to the login page with firefox.
I would install the firefox browser then try to login using firefox.
If it works then you know it is whatever browser your using now.

If not, you can always remove firefox after the try.

Been thinking about your problem. Some time back, I updated the antivirus on my laptop and, in the process, changed my cookies setting to where I have to sign into Amazon each time. I rarely use that PC for that purpose, so just let things stay. However, I don't like having websites that I don't even visit leaving bits of computer code (cookies) on my machine for unknown lengths of time.

Sounds like you may have done the same thing I did. In my instance, I know for a fact it wasn't antivirus or windows problem, because I specifically remember changing that tiny little thing. Sounded good at the time, but ended up putting a wrinkle in things.

I'd recommend playing with your cookie settings and see if you can get back to where you were.

I've barely heard of Patreon, but another thing that "might" cause problems is with popups. Have you adjusted any popup settings lately? Or maybe restricted the browser from forwarding to another web page, or other website altogether?
