I have a Dewalt 840 7inch angle grinder

I bought this new 2 years ago and never used it. The DARN thing turns backwards. I put a 7 1/4 inch sand pad on and the nut keeps loosens. It turns counter clockwise. Can one of you guys tell me how to fix it? Did they flip the wires at the switch?

Is there enough wire to switch the leads that connect to the two brushholders?

Open the case and see if there is enough slack in the wire to reverse the brush leads.

If not, you may have to splice a longer wire to the short one, but that should reverse it.

Thanks guys I never took it apart because I wasn't sure how to fix it. I'll gave it a shot thanks for your quick reply

A friend of mine had a starter repaired once, when it came back it turned the wrong way! We took it apart and switched the
brush leads and all was well.

That Gives me an idea. I have a cup shaped
wire brush that is practicly useless. I
would like to have a switch to reverse the
grinder so the bristles will cut again.
