Quick-Coupler For Lp, Can I Use It On Gasoline Line?

I use an extended run gas tank on my Honda 2000 IS generators with the Evinrude Marine type gas tank fitting, but they have a tendency to leak. I get them from Fleet Farm maybe that is why they leak.
My question is, can I use the quick-couplers that are for Lp or natural gas hose with a shut off valve right on the female coupler. These would be 1/4" fittings. I can not find any thing for gasoline.

The Coast Guard would freak if those quick couplers for portable boat fuel tanks were prone to leaking.
Maybe buy the from a boat shop that sells name brand ones.
I might put more faith in a set made by Honda than Acme Widgets.

Also, no fuel pressure allowed at those connectors.

I don't see why it wouldn't.

I'm thinking of the type used for mobile LP tanks, like used on fork lifts.

Very rugged and forgiving.

I've had better luck with the Chrysler/Force outboard style gas coupler. Designed more like a hydraulic fitting they have not leaked for me.

LP and/or Natural gas fittings on a gasoline system??

Good luck with that..

Why not just cut the fuel line from the tank to the carb and install a 2 way gasoline valve used on mowers that have two fuel tanks?

One way gas is supplied by the generators fuel tank. The other from an auxiliary tank. When not in use just cap the unused side with a rubber Vacuum block off cap.

I think the alcohol they put in gas today would eat up a quick coupler made for LP. I think you should look for one made for gasoline.

Why not?
Because he wants a quick (no tool required) connector for the application.
