Modern Manufacturing box blade help

How would you go about sizing box blade shanks? The box blade that was given to me didn?t have the shanks or pins with it. The dealer wants $50.00 each for OEM and I need 6, plus $30.00 shipping, and $3.00 for each pin. I found an online company with the same style of shanks for $15.99 each, plus $2.25 for each pin, and $50.00 for the whole thing shipped to my house. Are the shanks pretty universal?

If they are the same size shank, or the seller indicates they are compatible (guaranteed) I would not hesitate. Jim

Yes they are for ones with holes and pin.

Only big difference being the number of holes and the length. 16" usually have three holes while 18" have four.

Slotted type usually are all 18".

99% of both types are 2-1/2" wide, 3/4" thick.

I had a customer that built them for one oh his customers. He told me it would have been a lot cheaper to buy them, than have him build them. But hey, the customer is always right.

I got a box blade that was also missing the shanks. I ordered some steel from a local supply house (cut to length) to make 5. Cost was about $80 for all the material. I drilled 4 1/2" holes in each and welded on some 1 x 1/2" x2" stock for tips.
