I posted a couple of weeks ago about the fuel sensor quitting(It is just a fuel sending unit) on the wife's 2014. I put in the Chevron fuel additive and it started working. Then at about a 1/2 tank it quit again. We just drove it till we needed gas again(we are watching the trip meter) She filled it and the gauge is working again,it s down to a 1/4 tank now and still working. So if your gas gauge quits working try a bottle of Chevron injector cleaner.

Fuel sender elements are typically a wire wrapped rheostat of copper wire around a ceramic form. A copper wiper is attached to a float arm that moves up and down with the fuel. I had a car with a fuel gage that only worked at full and empty. In the middle it read empty. I removed the sender from the tank (be very careful of the gas fumes). The rheostat was very gunked up with varnish from the gasoline. I took some carb cleaner and a soft brush and lightly cleaned it off of the rheostat. It was still working years later when I sold the car.
