I have had this battery charger for about 3years, was skeptical at first but has worked good until today took it off a battery i have in the garage and put it on the truck that has not bee driven in a coupla months. I plug it in it goes pop and nothing. Took apart checked fuse with ohm meter good one micro processor has a bubble in it.
So I guess it's time for a new charger, any recommendations ?

These are the three types of Schumacher charger maitainers I use. Must
have a dozen of them all over the place. Lowes has some of these on
the shelf. Now here is what I do. I do have a coulpe of great big
heavy duty chargers but these Schumacher units are the cats meow. They
auto select 6 or 12 volt. Charge the battery in a slow and civilized
manor so you don't get warped plates. When done charging they shut
down and then go into a high frequency 19 volt pulse that desulfates
the plates in your battery. Read the directions when you get it. Make
sure the box says charger maintainer. Just love these units. Plug and
play.

Thats similar to what the stanley did it was a 15amp with a 40 start, it desulfated only when you pushed a button though. I have an old schumacher still works sort of LOL

Glade I fixed my 50 year old 10amp charge/50amp start Schumacher. These new smart chargers refuse to charge dead batteries until after the "stupid" Schumacher revives it a little.
What does everybody do if the the charger refuses to charge?

Hello circus,

Simply put a charged battery in parallel with the discharged one. Use jumper cables so when the dead one takes a charge, you can easely
disconnect the good one,

Guido.
