I.d. tapered bearing I can use for the inside bearing. Maybe I mean to say how much shoulder do I need for the bearing to ride against. My bush hog disc has an affinity for spindle eating. Currently has Lm29749 inner, Lm67048 outer. Roughly 1.5 inches between race lands in the hub. Would update hubs also.
Since I am to have a new spindle made again would like something a bit more durable.
Thanks Tom

You have a tapered spindle, is it eating the inner, or outer? The inner has the LM29749 1 1/2" id, the outer LM67048 has a 1 1/4" id. I assume its eating the outer, if it is you have the wheel with a lot of negative offset (wheel sticking way out from the spindle). That will eat the outer quicker.

Before you have something made or rigged up
check at Shoup parts. They used to stock
various capacity stub axles with or without
hubs and they were priced right.

I agree with Butch.

If I'm following this correctly, the wheel bearings are failing repeatedly.

You can buy weld on stub spindles much cheaper than having one made.

You can get any size you want with matching hub.

But, size and load may not be the entire issue. Could be contamination from grit getting in the bearings. Be sure to use a double lip seal, or 2 thin seals back to back to help keep the grit out and grease in.
