PTO Safety Guard

(quoted from post at 21:49:32 05/19/18) Where is a good place to buy the safety guard that goes on the PTO shafts
On my tractor, a large pvc pipe fit, but never installed it. Looked like I could split it and put a band clamp on it. Just a thought, and may not be applicable to your tractor pto.

Depends on the type of PTO shaft your looking for a shield for. On some shafts you can buy a complete new shaft for less money than the shields cost.

Ted actually really not so. You take a company like Woods, Land Pride, Bush Hog. they buy the COMPLETE shaft from one of three companies . They are really not interested in selling parts for the shafts. The guards are pretty easy to figure out just have to determine the brand then the series and go from there. Like JD Seller noted if one needs it all going to be expensive.

You need to know at least if it is older US (Rockwell, Neapco, etc.), current US (Weasler the only ones left), or metric (Comer, Eurocardan, Walterschied, Bondioli&Pavesi, and more) as the attachment style is not the same on all, and is even different among the same brand from different time periods. If this is an issue when you have employees working with equipment my suggestion is to get a new shaft with current safety standards acceptance.

I read that to mean "cheap" as there are plenty of "good" places to buy PTO shields online and locally, easily found with a google search.

Problem is they all seem to be charging a lot, or more for the guards, and my guess is you think there's some place out there that's super cheap to get them from... Unfortunately, there isn't.
