I have never seen another like this one, Elliot Corp. #1 pat. pending. I've had 50+ years. Shown with a 3/4-10 and a 6-48 used by gun smiths, and will cover a wide range of tap sizes.

I never saw one either. Does it have threads to hold the tap tight or does it just sit in place ?

The two handle halves screw together. I just did some measuring and the 3/4-10 was 7/16" across flats but it will open up to hold 3/4" across flats. Also tried a 3-48 which is .107 across flats and it clamped on it. I think the handles would be a little short and weak for anything full capacity though!

I also have one I never saw before, over 60 years in mechanics. I just bought it at a flea market, it looks just like a regular tap handle except if U look closer there is a small button-knob on the top. It can ratchet right or left or stay solid, very well made in good old USA by General. I paid $1 for it, had surface rust but cleaned up easy!
