Has anyone used Aspen dental for dentures or any other dental work. I have looked at reviews online and they are really bad. In fact they are so bad I'm not sure to believe they could be that bad and still be in business. Sooo if anyone or anyone you know well has had any work done, especially at Waco TX office I would like your opinion.

Friend of mine was not happy with their
scheduling, work, or results. Rarely wears
his dentures unless he has to. Apparently
the screwed posts into jawbone to attach
dentures. Sorry to write this as I need the
same services. Donno where to turn. I
suspect that other Aspen dentists in other
clinics have different results.

I think of it this way..............
Rembering the saying, those that can't "do", teach.

Chain or franchise, why?
Buying power for supplies, insurance, advertising?
Maybe, or...............
A place for incompetent, virtually insurable dentists to work?
Like a tourist area restaurant, they rely on "one-time customers" because they are not good enough to make it as the place to go for the locals?

That's not unusual for dentist to use post in jaw if you don't have enough jaw bone for plates to set tight. I had dentures made 11 years ago by another dental office and have had no problems. The place I used make custom fit dentures and took 2 weeks.

My late brother-in-Law had used them for some overpriced
dental work; he didn?t make much money and couldn?t pay
out-of-pocket so they financed it at a ridiculous interest rate.

He subsequently died about two years later and when Aspen
said that he still had to pay, his sister told them to forget it. He
had already paid way more than he should have.

I can't speak to Aspen Dental directly but I have seen them start advertising here in central MO and they are building a location in the same town as my current dentist. When I moved back to the farm from St. Louis, I had to look for a new dentist for the family. In STL, we had a small private dentist practice that we liked that we chose by asking friends for referrals. Didn't get much input asking friends for referrals back here at the farm so I spent a LONG time researching online and finally found another private family dentist practice similar to the one we had before that had good reviews and we are pretty happy so far. Later we found out a neighbor uses the same dentist we picked and they like him too.

What I found from all my research looking for a dentist was that reviews of any larger "chain" dental clinics were usually pretty negative. My impression is you get a different dental hygienist or dentist every time you go in. Thus you sort are just a body on a factory assembly line and are treated accordingly. My other impression is they "chains" get the dentists who can't make it on their own in private practice and their hygienists are rejects from the good private dentists. Again, my impressions so take that for what it's worth. Mike

I used Affordable Dentures. They were the only ones that would make your dentures the same day as extractions. Aspen dental would not. I have only went back twice in 5 yrs. Once to get my permanent dentures and once because I broke them. Had a very good dentist and experience with them. Family dentist is getting older and is getting very particular on what and when he works. He also answers the phone himself and makes appointaments while he is working on you. Hold on while I answer the phone!!!!!

My BIL got his dentures from Affordable Dentures and has had plates break three times. I got mine from AfDenta and they took impressions and it took two weeks to do plates. They pulled my teeth and put plates in the same day. I have had mine 11 years and haven't broke a plate yet and eat everything.

I've dealt with both of them plus local dentists. go to algodones mexico and you'll be happy with the service and have a whole lotta extra money in your
poke. 6miles west of yuma arizona. $550 for a pair of good dentures with a 5yr guarantee. affordable dentures use to be ok but the plates have gotten so
thin; they break all the time, unless u buy there best set. I have no problem with the dentist who runs the one in lincoln NE, he's a good guy!
mexican dentisits fit the teeth in one day and back in the morning to pick them up. $6 parking in the US and walk across the border. probably two blocks
total!

I looked up the reviews for the one in my area. Very, very bad. It is probably like anything else. The good ones that work for any big company get their experience then go start their own practice. It is usually better to got to the local small business.

I have dealt with them for a lot of years and had at least 2 full sets of dentures made. Only had a small problem and it was fixed right away and I'm very satisfied with them. The one I use is in New York State.

I've had a lot of dental work done over the past 40 years, including 3 partials and 1 full denture. Charles Parker in Marshall Tx is head and shoulders above any others I used. Two years ago it was time for full dentures,I had retired and couldn't afford Dr. Parker so I used Affordable across 635 from Town East Mall in Mesquite. I paid $2,700 for 14 extractions, same day temporaries and a set of their best dentures. The first temporaries didn't fit well so after 2 weeks they made another set at no charge. The second temprary set fit so well I considered getting a refund for the ones I would get after healing. That's how the story should end but it isn't. From the onset, all my experience in the office was good but some phone conversations took left turns so I drove to the Denton Tx office and asked them to finish my treatment. Denton said no problem and that certainly should be where the story ends but another phone conversation went bad so I asked for a face to face with the dentist. Come to find out when the phone conversation went bad THE OFFICE WAS CLOSED,DENTIST AND HIS INTIRE STAFF WERE ON VACATION. When you call Affordable, the phone rolls over to corperate after XX rings. I called corperate and ask for the supervisor over those that answer phones. The supervisor was the biggest scissors bill yet. I completed my treatment, the staff were great and I'm very pleased with the dentures. I wrote a letter copying both offices and corperate. I told them everyone would be better served if they made it clear to whom patients are talking to. Never heard anything else from them. If you choose Affordable, that knowledge might save your blood pressure.

They wanted 3000.00 for a bunch of work they claim I needed. I wound up having two pulled and a couple fillings. 325.00 at a local dentist with a great record after I asked around. For cheap dentures look up dentist in Jacksonville IL.

I have had no dealing with Aspen, but one should take online reviews with a grain of salt. Generally only dissatisfied customers bother to leave reviews.

Understand that big outfits like Aspen hire dentists who are just starting out and who leave after a few years. That doesn't mean they don't do good work, but your dentist might not be too experienced. I have been going to a big local operation for many years and have been quite happy with them. (My only criterion for picking them is they are close to where I work and on my way home.) I've run through several young dentists, but they've all done good work. My current dentist is a former military dentist who I'm sure got a lot of experience during his brief stint in the service.

I didn't go after cheap dentures I went for who's work held up and made dentures to look like my own teeth. Mine with pulling and dentures and two sets of liners cost me $2,000.00 and insurance $3,000.00 total of $5,000.00. They also used picture that we had of me to help make dentures.

Well all in all I think the dental business has went to heck along with the regular medical professions !!!!! Small town ones here are no better.
Costs through the roof ! Poor customer relations and lack of informing you of what is going on. You are now in most places being worked on along with several others in the same area and you can hear everything that is going on to everyone else ! You go for a check up and if they find a cavity they won't fill them right then and there either like they used to.
GOOD LUCK !

Aspen Dental in Dickson Tenn. just pulled a huge back lower jaw tooth of mine Tues. May 15. Still sore as you would expect a large wound to be. Doc almost pulled his shoulder out of joint trying to pull it. Twisted, pried, drilled & after 15 minutes pulled it in 3 pieces. Was hooked under the jawbone. Had the other one pulled about 40 years ago & it was the same way only they used hammer & chisel while I held my hand under the jawbone. Anyway I never felt a thing. Had to be numbed 3 times. I am resistant to numbing & I take no chances on feeling pain. Doc gave me strong pain pills for when the numbness wore off but I never noticed when it wore off. Never felt the first twinge of pain! Bled like a S.O.B. tho. Biting down on gauze slowed it down. $207. $19 first time patient fee included about 50 x-rays plus gum & tooth exam. Better experience than I expected. The tooth had rotted down to level with the gum line & made me miserable for about a month before I broke down & went in. So I recommend them.
