Bought this for 25 cents at a garage sale. Looks to be a utensil of some sort. Any ideas??

something for scooping and pushing off the scoop ??? butter ?? cookie dough ?? lard ?? it's definetely a kitchen utensil

I have saw a few adjustable Sliding Measuring Spoons that looked like that.

Here is a similar and newer one.

It looks like an Aluminium version of a Pemberton scoop . This is an English utensil sometimes called a Stilton scoop and is used for serving stinky cheeses . Stilton is often put into soups as a garnish of sorts , this allowed you to elegantly plop a knob of cheese into the middle of the bowl .
