Made my first G code

I did dry runs this afternoon, here is my G code, it makes two small holes and cuts the bigger circle.

Please remember, the z axis is not functioning yet.

I was planning on opening up the 4 wires from the stepper controller to the stepper during an estop. I blew out one of the controllers doing that today, so I am going back to killing the 120VAC that feeds all of it during an estop. I also ordered the hole sizes backwards on the pulleys that I was going to use on the Z axis, the stepper is 14mm and the mill shaft is 18mm. I will get the right pulleys and a replacement stepper driver coming and hit that up next week, meanwhile I will get the brackets done to mount the stepper and limit switches.

Do the drives have an e-stop or enable input you could use? Seems like just killing the input power may let an axis continue moving a bit until the capacitors in the drives are discharged.
 
There is an enable signal that goes to the controller, I have not looked at it yet.

I would plan to drop both that and AC on estop.
 
Back in the 70s when i was first learning G code, I would fit a felt pen in the spindle and and let the machine draw the path on the part. Made it easy to see the result and if anything went badly wrong, felt pens break pretty easily.
 
Does your control not get picky about the feed rate not having a decimal point? I'm asking because any variation of Haas control I have used considers F15 and F15. two VERY different feed rates. Even if your current control doesn't get picky about it, I would call it good practice to ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS use a decimal point on any number, whether it be a feed rate or coordinate.
 
I am not going to school for it, just Internet research, ask questions here and try things.
