Big and little!

My friend ran a horizontal lathe. He turned rings up to 15 feet in diameter. The rings were used in forming the flanges on molds for large concrete pipe.

Have run many manual lathes in manufacturing. One thing I know is you can make small parts on say a 16" lathe but you can't make bigger parts on a small lathe. Love my 16x40 Enterprise with taper attachment.

We had one at my former employer that had been cut down to 40' when we had bought it. It supposedly had been used to cut the big guns for the WWII battle wagons. Ride on carriage and I think an 8' diameter capacity.
