:?I have a to 20 . the carb. body leaks fuel around the gasket I have set the float to a quarter inch at the back closest to fuel needle but the fuel is too high I put a new float in also a new fuel needle. any ideas I would be thankful for the help

Double check your float setting. Plus if it is a rubber tipped needle they take time to set in or you can do the set your self. Open the carb and drop the needle into the seat and tap on it a few times to put a set in the rubber tip so it will seal like it should

In addition to what old said, if it is actually "running over", did you install the correct new gasket along with the seat, and TIGHTEN the seat securely.

It shouldn't leak past the gasket, even if the fuel level IS too high.

Sounds like the carb body may be warped or there's debris under the gasket.

Does it leak while sitting not running to the point it drips, or does it simply get wet while running?

A trick to find out where the gas level actually is is to remove the 1/8" bowl drain plug and install a small hose barb and a matching length of clear tubing. (If you can do it safely, you are working with gasoline, use appropriate precautions.)

Loop the tubing in a 180? and hold it up beside the carburetor and turn on the gas. The level of the gas in the tube will reflect the level in the bowl.

Just an idea Bob using a clear tube helps a whole bunch when doing that test. That way you can keep the end up higher then the top of the carb so les likely to spill any gas

Bob's right this method works really well .

I used it on a Zenith 28G carburettor from my Standard engined FE35 Grey and Gold .
