It will take a charge and work a while,,overnight or during the day unused it will go dead,Got a new
battery,it does the same thing.Whats next?Its a Fugi XP,,

Does you camera go into a sleep mode? My pro camera Canon 7D goes to sleep. Soon as you touch the trigger button it is fully awake in a split second. If your trigger has a little gunk down in it the camera may stay in a standby mode. Trigger you camera and wait to see what it does. First thought was a battery problem but you already looked at that. Only thing I could think of is the camera is not going to sleep. Does your camera have a on / off switch that you can totally shut it down? If so try that.

Hi, I can't help with the battery problem but I have a problem with mine too (while we are on cameras). Every time I turn it on it comes up with the script to set date and time. I've set it several times. Sorry for interjecting.

Sounds like someplace in the circuit board you have a internal short so the battery dies due to the short . Sorry but if that is so only fix is to replace it. These new things are not made to be repaired

They can usually not be fixed. But you can take the battery out of it each time you get done using it. A little painful, but if you like it and don't want to spend 50 on a point and shoot. It is a small price of convenience. Jim

does it have an auto shut off feature that is enabled ? if not make sure you manually shut it down when putting it away. consult your manual.

Might could do a continuity reading off the camera's batt terminals? For the charging port, if its usb, check it with a flashlight. They get lint Iin there and do that same issue. Pick it out with a toothpick and try it.

Battery may not be charging with the loose cord. Cell phone charging ports can be repaired, sometimes at a kiosk in the mall...maybe then can do a camera....

Hi, Ed:
I have a digital camera, Canon A-510 that I was having to set the date every time I used it. Then I found out it had a separate battery that keeps the internal date/time function going. The instruction book calls it the date battery. Mine uses a Lithium "coin" battery. Well Duh!

What is bad about this is, I already knew my big old Windows tower computer uses a coin-type battery for the same purpose! (Not sure if my laptop has a date battery, but maybe I can take the hint if it can't remember the date/time.)
Hope this helps!
