am getting ready to frost seed heavy clay hillside that is as smooth as babies butt (overgrazed). using 3 pt fertilizer/seeder. what is advantage of vicon pendulum seeder ? no agitator. does pendulum give narrower spread range ? am gonna fabricate agitator so i can add multiple types of seed such as oats, rye, clover, grasses then roll with propane roller filled with water. anybody have similiar ground and what worked successfully ? thanks

Never used a spinner I always use a grain drill Easier to calibrate and easier to see where you are going also puts the seed down in the snow so it won?t blow away

is that a jd fbb ? i have one with a roller behind. is it single disc ? do you have problem with mud or do you do when cold ?
can i see a pic of closing wheels behind ? thanks

Do you have a manual for that spreader? There are many spout options for it. Long, short, one way, etc. etc. They spread evenly, where a spinner is apt to be heavy one way. I had one, and liked it, but it was too small for what I wanted to do.

John deere ll147 its a press wheel drill the press wheels pack the seed it is a double disc . I have drilled lots of very steep ground I can't see any where a broadcast spreader would be better than a drill unless you didn't have enough tractor to pull it
