Chevy truck weird problem update

Well after giving up on my $10 Bluetooth scanner to try to figure things out on the truck, took it to a real mechanic friend with some better diagnostic tools. He hummed and hawwed around a while looking at this and that on his scanner. Then he said let's check the fuel pressure again. So he did and it was down at 55psi. New fuel pump and it's running good again.

Maybe I need a new fuel pressure gauge. I'd swear it was above 60psi before, while bogging or not, and after the filter change.

Anyway, thanks for all the help guys!

I really appreciate it when the OP comes back and tells "The End Of The Story" Too many times you never hear what finally happened in the end. I hate that ! Thanks

Thanks for the update. These trucks are real finicky on fuel pressure. It has to do with the design, central injector/poppet valves. If you ever have to replace the "spider injector" get the updated design that puts individual injectors at the tips.

I was going to try to make it, then Wednesday I got to working on some things and next time I looked at the clock it was already noon, woops! I really would like to get to meet all you guys if you have another lunch there, ;)

Your lucky it was running at 55 PSI. Vortecs start having at 58 PSI. Maybe a trip to a calibration shop might be in order for your gauges.
Take those torque wrenches also while your at it. Bad diagnostic info leads to bad diagnostics. Your lucky you got off as cheap as you did.
Yes. That is the voice of experience.
