Something good for the Old Tool guys

Here are pictures about recent topics taken from an 1880 Sargent's tool catalog. 981 pages of hardware and tools. Prices are there if you can read them. Below in a reply to ACG I mentioned that my parents owned an old hardware store at one time, this catalog is from that store. I think we have another somewhere, I will look when I have some time. We also have a very large (24"x24" ?) "book" of old wallpaper samples. I'm sorry we didn't keep more of the old goodies. And a couple pictures of old hardware thrown in.

Old hardware stores are getting hard to find. Wood floors that creek. Tall shelves stuffed full. The best part is the aroma. If I could bottle the aroma and sell it as cologne I would.

That catalog is a family treasure, and it looks like you have taken good care of it.

We have samples of old family tools from almost every photograph that you posted. No sash fasteners though. (Not sure what they are)

Well heck - why didn't I figure that out, ha?

When I was young, I thought the perfect job would be working in a good hardware store. Now that I'm old, I still think that.
