I parked my B275 diesel the other day and just as i went to turn it off it had an increase in the revs.It was always kind of sluggish so this took me by surprise.

From research i thought it might be rings allowing oil from the crank but its not blue at all its black smoke ....The only thing i found that i thought it could be was a governor...But im really not sure..It immediately goes into high revs and the kill switch can shut it off or keep it going ...

If you have the pump that is pneumatic make sure to check the air cleaner. If it is frozen up with water or plugged up it will restrict the air flow and make it run crazy. Al

Is it an early or late B275? Early has a butterfly valve in the air-intake pipe that can get stuck open. Mine got jammed closed once with mud-wasps.

Early BD-144 has a CAV in-line pump box with four injector pumps riding on a camshaft and an air-governor like a old Ford Major uses. Governor hooks to linkage to a butterfly air-valve flapper in the air-intake pipe.

Later BD-144 has a CAV rotary-distributor pump with an internal centrifugal governor.

Injection pump rack is stuck/frozen or pneumatic governor diaphragm is torn/damaged.
