Anyone in western mo or eastern ks know of a shop that can turn a crankshaft for a k341 kohler 16 hp motor?

Have you checked with the local O'Reilly's auto parts store they should be able to or know where it could be done. Is that a horizontal shaft engine?? If yes I have one

Did it get low on oil and old rod weld itself to the crank before the rod broke? If so just go to the hardware store and get some muriatic acid, use an old paint brush to coat the aluminum on the crank to dissolve it. DO THIS OUTSIDE AND DON'T BREATH THE FUMES!! Last several Kohler cranks I've had here were cleaned up that way, without being ground.

I just did the same thing to a 16hp Briggs out of a MTD zero turn mower. MTD had a plastic (?) tube out of the drain pipe hole leading to the rear of the tractor to a fitting, making it a piece of cake to change oil. Only thing wrong with the system is the tube got to close to ex and burned in half, dumping the qt and half of oil in seconds. Both rods siezed and broke. It happened so quickly, the cylinders and pistons were as new. Time spent with the muriaric, rubber gloves and fan blowing over it eventually cleaned it off. The steel wool I was using disappeared quite quickly too. It miked perfectly.......

I've got a Kohler kt17 that siezed a rod at the crank and snapped it, cleaned the journal up with muratic acid, polished it a bit, and back to mowing.
