Ever buy a handle for a maul or axe? Usually costs the same or more than a complete new one!

Like that don't you...as you may be able to notice the keyboard is super dirty(almost to point of unreadable) from ten minute field breaks and checking for parts/ info just after wrenching on something. After some time some of the keys started to stick. Say you'd want say a B so you tap it and get BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB..... (till you managed to pop it back up with a pocket knife ect) or you'd want another letter and have to hammer on it to get it to move.

After tipping it up a few times and tapping the edge on the desk to knock out loose dirt, B and N still didn't work right, so we popped them off. We found sticking something in the hole and pressing the "trip"(where the plastic buttons hit) worked. We had a screw driver laying here for a time, to clubby. Someone dropped a drill bit, worked but to sharp...Hay here a bolt, works great.

Yeah we replaced a few they can get expensive. I don't like to throw out tools or even parts if the rest is easily gotten.

Spring winder. The smaller single V piece(right under nut) rides on a piece of round stock(what ever diameter you need). A piece of wire is fed through a hole in the bump out and through the head. Then either using a lathe to turn the bar or turning the tool around the fixed stock. a coil is formed. The piece of the tool with the 4 V's is the coil spacer guide since each V is a different thickness. Here is a image of a similar one I found on line.

I had a keyboard like that. In a way it was handy - once you got it to make a string of BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB's, you could just push them all along in front of you until you needed another one.

(quoted from post at 08:56:39 01/19/18) Looks like it, but as you said far from it. Its actually a Spring winder.
That would've been my nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnext guess. *lol*

Nope, never would have guessed spring winder! Thanks for posting this one.

Rather than buy a replacement ballast, I've bought the cheapest fluorescent light and cannabilized the ballast. It is several dollars cheaper than a replacement ballast. And you have some scrap tin to throw in your scrap barrel. lol gobble

Fill your tub with a couple inches of warm water and drop the keyboard in and slosh it around for a bit, Just be sure to let it dry out good before using it. Worked for me when soda was spilled on it.
