These are almost a relic but I'm sure there are people on here that have used these. Cleaning out an old tool bag and found this one. Modern connectors have made them obsolete.

This one crimps the pin in the center of a coaxial cable BNC connector. I've also crimped new contact pins on various connectors for engines and machine tools. One broken pin, just like this one, shut down a 466DTe engine computer. We stole a pin out of another connector and got it running to get it home.

wouldn't surprise me if there was a different crimp spec for various brands of connectors. I used to do a lot of Amphenol mil-spec connectors, and they specified the exact make and model of crimper you used. QA guy told me he'd reject them if he even found the wrong crimper on the workbench, whether you were using it or not. Those aerospace folks get really nuts about that stuff, but they have to. Too much at risk for a bad connection. My pair does have a serial number on them for tracability.

Huh! I always figured there was a tool for doing that, but I never saw one before. Looks a lot easier than trying to use regular crimpers or pliers!

Yup, mine are left over from my days as a contract comms installer after I retired from the Navy. Went right back to the same building I worked in on active duty and worked on the team that installed an entire new communications center.

Pulled and terminated many a 50-pair cable.
