Pointed sledgehammer thingy. I used it
quite a bit in my younger days. It is not a
picaroon. Anyone else use one? Answer and
more pictures later.

Have seen them with longer, thinner points, but nothing like that. I'm stumped! (...like that's a difficult thing! :roll: )
 

I believe it's for driving and removing skidding grabs from logs. Still being made today., believe or not!
 
Yes, we always called it a Skipper. Not
sure if this is the technical term. The
dozer with winch in the background was a
hint. Grabs driven in the sides of the log
allowed us to get the butt off the ground
to ease skidding and point of Skipper was
driven behind grabs to remove them.

grabskipper in eastern mountain area. Got my old one in the barn but haven't driven a set of grabs in 40 yrs. Still got the grabs tho; might be useful next time he!! freezes over.
