Hi, I just bought a 3 amp battery maintainer/charger. It has a feature that controls the charge rate. It will do 6 or 12 volt batteries. $21 tax in.
There is one there for $10 for 6 or 12v. It doesn't have a 110 cord. it just plugs into the wall socket, then the alligator leads go to the battery, but maintainer only. I suppose you could plug it into an extention cord. I have the 3 amp on my backhoe now. Ed will. Oliver BC

I have several. Mine are .75 and 1.5A models. One is a Schumacher while the others are Battery Tenders (.75 are Jr.s). I like them for keeping batteries charged during the winter months and anytime the equipment isn't being used. I have very good luck with battery life. I suspect it is due to using these little lifesavers. When the charging system failed on my jump pack, I rewired it to use one of the .75s. I wish we had 'em back in the 80's...

The best investment you can make in order to give your 6 or 12 volt battery long life is a float charger, not a trickle charger. The DELTRAN BATTERY TENDER ? ? is a good choice to do just that. The BT keeps the battery at full charge so when it is needed, like to start your tractor in cold weather, it is ready. The Bat Tender prolongs the life of the battery because it isn't being discharged severely then recharged over and over. That is what depletes the life out of a battery. A Battery Tender Jr. ? ? is the 6-Volt Version, retails around $30, and all of their models are available at Walmart.
