Interesting set of pliers. Jaws stay parallel and has nippers on side.

Jewelry and sheet metal are the most common uses. I use a couple of pair for handy pliers in the house tool drawer. jim

Dad used to deliver the Detroit Free Press on Sundays. He had a pair like that in the car to cut the wire off the bundles.

have some similar that are made to crimp scotch lock wire connectors. must have parallel jaws to do that correctly.

I have a pair exactly like them, they were my grandfather's. They are pretty high quality and the parallel jaws work well when you want to apply even pressure.

I have a pair exactly like this . I use them for grasping glass when cutting tricky pieces for leadlighting , the parallel jaws won't stress and crack the glass sheet . The nippers on the side can be used to cut the lead came .

For many years, almost every mate and captain on charter boats on the Jersey and Delaware coast carried one of these for making wire leaders and cutting heavy mono.

3M should burn in ell for coming up with scotch locks noting about them is correct...

Have a similar set or 2. Parallel jaw pliers. Can still get them from Brownells Gunsmithing supply last I knew. Very, very handy for holding pins and such. Not cheap in $$$.
