Anyone ever rebuild a Victor SR 260A regulator I can get a complete rebuild kit around $25.00 airgas don't sell the bare regulator my gauges are good what they have is the complete unit $175.00.

They are pretty simple, usually the seat goes bad and they over pressure. Just watch how everything comes apart, keep everything clean. I don't use any solvent, just blow it out with canned air if necessary. Be sure there is no oil any where near it, especially when working on the oxygen regulator.

When you get it back together, test it with the hose disconnected. Back the pressure adjustment all the way off, open the bottle valve. There should be no gas flowing. Slowly turn the pressure up, it should start to flow, then stop when you back the pressure off. Once it passes that test, connect the hose, set the pressure, watch that it holds the pressure, no leaks, should be good to go.

When ever I have something I have to take apart. I have my wife use her phone and video tape it. Comes in handy If you ever have a spring come out of no where.

I would buy a kit from ebay,a new Harris is about $70.00. Any welding store that will only sell you a complete kit need to close the doors.
I will say that most of the time, a complete outfit is cheaper than buying just two pieces.

if you are the only one using the torch, just rebuild it, If you have employees, it may be better to replace the regulator. When I operated a welding shop I repaired the torches and regulators. Now since I have heard stories of injuries and litigations, I would have second, third, and fourth thoughts. They can get you for some violation that is not even related to the repair you made.
