Another Neat ol Tool

Here's a nifty old half inch drive speed wrench. There are 2 ball bearings in the handle that allow the tool to spin like a bike wheel. It works great. Handle is held on with a set screw so it was really easy to disassemble, clean and regrease the bearings

Great design! Only way to improve that would be if the handles could unscrew for more compact storage/portability. ...Was probably used at a garage, so being portable wasn't an issue.

Worked in a 1930s era gas station back in the 70s. A wrench just like this was used for tire/wheel work, once you break lug nuts loose, can really spin them off fast.

Similar to what we used to change tires at the track on stock cars except instead of spokes we welded on an old steering wheel.

Once broke loose you held it on the nut with your stomach and gave the steering wheel a spin and the nut was off.

Always had an extra set of nuts to put the new wheel on with otherwise you would burn your fingers with the ones you just removed.
