Decent Spray Cup

I'm looking for a decent spray cup (or HVLP) at a good price. I'll be using it mainly for spraying the underside of vehicles, and maybe painting tractors, but nothing fancy.
There's a Harbor Freight near where I work - do they have anything decent?
Thanks
Pete

Pete, a young man named Lanse who used to be quite active on this site until he was asked not to post links to his YouTube videos here anymore has an active (and apparently lucrative) presence on YouTube under the name ChuckE2009. Just last week I watched one of his videos which was called Harbor Freight Tools That Don't Suck. One of the tools he put in that category was the H.F. paint sprayer and those cups. Also, I was recently watching YouTube videos about how to paint a vehicle, and several people who I judged to be capable used Harbor Freight spray painting equipment and said that they were satisfied with it. One other thing I can suggest is that you go to the Harbor Freight website and find whatever you want to buy and read the customer reviews on it. Compared to customer reviews I've read anywhere else---Amazon, eBay, Yelp, etc.---Harbor Freight reviews appear the most uncensored, unedited reviews I've ever read. You've got to use a bit of judgment because some of the reviewers, both positive and negative, clearly don't know what they're talking about---some seem inexperienced with tools, and some just seem stupid---but they're very candid.

Probably all you'll find is a HVLP. Theirs are serviceable, but if you are going to do this a lot you'll want something more robust, theirs will wear out on you.

I always used the Binks look alike with the qt. cups until I bought one of those HF $9.99 guns with the cup on top--one of the best things I did--no dribbling and easier cleanup. If it goes bad-----throw it away and you are out $10---Tee

Spraying the underside of vehicles a pressure pot sprayer would work the best. It would spray any direction you pointed the gun and wouldn't have the cup to get in the way. Harbor Freight has a 2 qt. model for 44.99 which comes with everything. It's item number 93312.

I've been using one of their cheapies to spray used oil under my vehicles, they're like $15.99 regular price,HF has coupons all the time...just not right now...for $9.99. Been working fine for me. I never clean it out, just use it for oil. Item no.'s 62300,47016,and 67181, I think they're all the same.

Never tried painting with it, although I do have a new one in the box I want to try.

But Stephen Newell may be right about the pressure pot type. My vehicles go up on a lift, so it's not hard to maneuver the gun around. If you're on jack stands, trying to keep the cup more or less vertical could be hard.

When you read the reviews, you'll want to select 'most recent' and start reading, their default setting is 'Highest rated'.

Here's a link to some coupons, gotta get your free flashlight....

I've used the harbor freight guns. For $15 they spray as good or better then an entry level gun of the top spray guns. I use a DevilBiss Finish Line for expensive paint. It's only better for metalics and clear.

Stephen - thanks for the tip! I ordered one today. They had a 20% off coupon too.

I always thought one of those pressure tank guns would be good for painting the underside of machinery, but didn't want to fool with one of those big old things that the barn painters used to use. I didn't know a 2 quart pot was available.

I use the bigger one myself but I don't normally paint the underside of equipment. I use mine mostly for finishing cabinets. It's great when you need to go inside of a cabinet and spray the finish.
