refrigerator update

ordered a defrost timer and put it in at about 6 pm tonight. checked the fridge at 9. between the 5 thermometers in there, i have -10 and +10 in the freezer and 32,38,and 42 in the fridge. i am gonna go and get new thermometers tomorrow, but so far so good the fridge and freezer are working again, and both tstats are set about half way. thats for all the help!!! i will update when i get some new thermometers. gonna grab the laser tomorrow and get an accurate reading.
 
Probably nothing wrong with your thermometers, they all have hot and cold spots. And anyway, why all that fuss if it's fixed? The only time I had a problem with a defrost timer the fridge just quit cooling period. I bypassed it while the new part came in, about 3 days, replaced it, end of story. Still using that same fridge.
 
kevin, the thermometers are right next to each other, should not be that big of a temp difference. suprised how in accurate they are.
 
Buying new thermometer wont help just figure which one is calibrated correctly, new ones will not be more accurate just because theyare new.

some thermometers are not accurate unless they are kept vertical of course the coiled spring type are usually not very accurate which is why they send an adjustment key with the better ones, if it came from the land of almost right you are lucky if it works at all.
