I've got a new thermometer that does not give the correct temperature. The red fluid says its 8 degrees when it must be about 76 degrees. How can I fix it ?? Thanks

I guess if you wanted to correct things just because, you could put it in boiling water then in freezing water and recalibrate it.
If it is new and faulty I would just return it and avoid the hassle.

Hello gatorhide,

If the Liquid is separated it can be reunited with the bottom half by heating the bulb. You would have
to be able to closely control temperature rise, or you will blow the top,

Guido.

It seems most of the glass tube thermometers nowadays are very poor quality, and from the land of almost right. Surprisingly most digital
ones seem pretty good, from that same country!
