Took these of my 1030 and they show pretty well how good oven cleaner works on old grease.

Yes, oven cleaner is the best tool for old grease. I use a trigger sprayer to spray a 50-50 mixture on. I circle a few times hitting the worst places multiple times. Then I give it about a half hour to penetrate, and then hit it with the high pressure hot water spray.

You must have not used the same stuff I used. My oven cleaner had lye in it and took a lot of the paint off.

I used the generic stuff sold at the hardware store, di dnt take off any paint but did fade it.

Lye is an old time term for potassium hydroxide which is the active ingredient of pretty much all of the world's oven cleaners.

Paint came off when I used it as well.in defense the crappy paint job was flaking off in spots anyway...

John, how many cans did it take to do that size tractor? Looks great!!

Showcrop, did u find oven cleaner in jugs to put in spray bottles? I always thought it only came in aerosol cans only

I believe I used 3 cans to do 3 coat and wash cycles. I covered most of the tractor each time.

Been real busy with my daughter's wedding and such, plus had to find a crank because my spare was cracked. But I have everything now to put it together and if the weather is good it's on my agenda for next time I'm home to put it together.

I sell oven cleaner in 4x1 gal. and six quarts, (truck-load only). like everything else it is available many different ways. Most members here on YT get it by the gallon at the Dollar store. I dilute it according to the instructions on the jug with water.
