John Deere 60

Can anyone help, I have a john deere 60 that runs perfect until it gets warmed up real good ( like 10 to 15 minutes) then it misses, and coughs around. Let it cool down overnight runs good until it gets warmed up pulling a box scraper for 10 to 15 minutes. Any suggestions?

That is a classic symptom of a failed coil. It can also be a plugged vent in the fuel cap. Put on a different coil. If it is fixed buy a new one for it. jim

I also put on a new coil and it never helped

You'll need to be ready to catch it in the act.

Check the spark at each plug as soon as it fails. Should get about a 1/4" spark. You can break the electrode off an old plug, have it ready to attach to a plug wire, ground the base, crank it and watch for spark. Also have a test light or volt meter ready to check for power to the coil.

An easy test is try a partial choke, see if that makes it run better, even for a second. If so, look into the fuel supply to the carb.
I believe that has a drain plug on the carb. If so, with the fuel valve on, remove the plug, should get a steady flow, not a trickle or drip. If poor flow, be sure the tank is vented, sediment screen is clean, fuel line is away from heat sources. If good flow to the carb, but not out the drain, drop the bowl, clean the needle/seat, check the float level and action.
