cordless drivers and rain

Is there any chance to repair a Bosch cordless drill left in the rain? It is just dead, and even after several days drying out, nothing. Any suggestions?

If it is a few years old and has built-in Ni-Cad batteries, I'd just replace it with one that has Lithium-Ion batteries. Ni-Cad batteries don't last much past 5 years for me.

See if you can look at the terminals in the drill and on the battery and check for corrosion. I have some 30 plus year old cordless tools that require me taking them apart and cleaning the crud off the contacts every 10 years or so.

If the battery was in it, probably corroded inside where the live terminals connect.

Open it up, see if it is salvageable.
