sharpen woods RM-59

Have you sharpened the blades on your Woods RM-59 finishing mower? I want to sharpen mine, but I am thinking removing the blades might be a lot of work. Since the mower is currently on the tractor, I am thinking of removing the mower drive shaft, also remove the top link of the 3-point hitch, then picking up the back end of the mower with a chain hoist. Then I think I can sharpen the blades while they are still on the mower, using my small angle drive grinder. I expect to sit on a milk crate while doing the grinding part of the job, pretty lazy! Your thoughts, opinions, experiences requested!!

i just did my rm 600 mower. raised the mower on the 3 point and blocked it. worked from the outside on a creeper. worked pretty good. heres a
pic of the mower.

I pick the mower up with the 3pt, shut the motor off and use an impact wrench to remove them. With the impact you do not need to hold the pulley with the tool, just grab the blade to keep if from spinning. Then I sharpen on a bench grinder and balance them. Then put them back on with the impact wrench.
The come off easy with the impact wrench. Just remember the bolt is a left hand thread and use a good six point impact socket with flank drive as SnapOn had the patent for.

I would prefer to unhook it and turn it upside down. I lost a friend a couple months ago when a rotary cutter that was on blocks fell on him & no one was around to get it off him. Must have been a terrible way to die, so please be carefup.

I remove all my blades and use a 10 inch craftsman radial saw
with 4 10 inch carbide blades. Made a jig to hold blades in
place. I sharpen and balance all my blades. Put metal on saw so
sparks can't catch anything on fire. Don't use saw for wood
anymore. Makes one great blade sharpener. Looks like a pro
sharpens my blades which are 2 ft blades off woods RM660. Each
blade has 8 inch of cutting edge on each end.
