RV Fresh water holding tank

RV water tank has a hair line crack that has started to drip, the crack is near the outlet fitting & looks to be an easy repair IF the proper repair is used . The plastic is heavy semi-trans. Can this be welded or some type of glue used?. There was stress on fitting and that was corrected. Thanks.

Definitely plastic welding. However, it will still be a weak spot, so wouldn't hurt to add some additional reinforcement once you have an adequate weld repair.

On our rental ATV's we plastic weld damages and melt in some wire mesh on the back side, just like metal welding you need to add material (plastic).

Fresh water tanks made of the poly plastic are near impossible to repair and have last. On the other hand, the ABS plastic tanks made for grey or sewage water are easy to fix and plastic weld easy. Good luck.
