gutters for building with metal roof.

I'm looking for a small section of gutter to put over a small door on my shop. The problem is I have a metal roof on the shop and in the winter the snow really slides off with a lot of force. The rain has ruined the wooden shop door and the rain hits the blacktop and bounces back. Thanks for any help.

There are metal inverted 'V's' that are screwed down about 6 inches up from the edge. Same color as your roof. They stand 3 inches tall and keep the snow from sliding in that area. Look at a commercial metal roof; they have those in place over doors to keep customers and employees from being 'bombarded' under an avalanche.

Gutters are sold by the ten foot section at the home box stores,or just find a local contractor with a machine and they can just roll the leangh you need. For ice and snow they have stick on tabs that stop snow from sliding down the roof but let the melting snow run off, again, box stores.

One brand is called "Snow Bars", I have installed them on several roofs, work well. When we built our cabin I put the gutter on quite low, thinking the snow would slide over it, nope, it curls down and bent it! For an exposed fastener roof it is not too expensive, hidden fastener very!

Hang it as low as you can, so the snow will overshoot the gutter.

It took me three tries to figure that out. . .

x2 on awning.

Or replace door with a pre-hung fiberglass door with fiberglass
frame. Never have to worry about painting.

Or cover wood frame with aluminum.

I have gutters on my pole barn with metal roof and the snow slides off it no problem so far been many years. They must have them hung low enough ?
