Bearings for Farmall M with Norden Front Axle

I need a set of hub bearings and wheel bearings for a Farmall M with a Norden front axle. The serial number for the front axle assembly is 216_ , but I can't see anything after 216.

We have taken the hub bearing and wheel bearings off the tractor and can't find numbers on them. Is it possible to measure the width of the axle and thickness of the bearings and then order the bearing? What are your suggestions?

DUNNO why you are using that STRANGE terminology???

Sounds like you may need an inner wheel bearing cup and cone and an outer wheel bearing cup and cone.

Typically, vendors of aftermarket wide front shipped them with bare spindles that would accept the wheel hubs and bearings already on the tractor.

What's wrong with the bearings you have, unless they've been exposed to water for long enough to severely pit them, typically they can be cleaned up and reused.

If you are determined to replace them, almost without exception, tapered roller bearing cups and cones are stamped or etched with an industry standard part number. Better have another look.
 
Don't know what a hub brg. is but never seen a tapered roller brg. without a number stamped on it and the cup.
 
Should be able to take it to a bearing supply place, they will use calipers, they do it all the time.
 
Like Spook said just take it in and let them measure them. With the hub also you can be sure they will fit right. Take the old seal in and they can fix you up there also.
 
Probably true when they are new, but I just stripped a boat trailer axle and there is no sign of any numbers on them. Some of them are just printed with some kind of ink, and these had rotated against the nut a little. They are just generic trailer bearings, 1 inch bore, straight spindle. Amazon, $7!
