new topic on Garmin GPS

My Garmin that sits on top of dash has two power cords; one cord has a device in middle of cord that supposedly receives satellite signals regarding current traffic problems. The other cord has a device that receives wireless signal from my new back-up camera when the truck shift lever is placed in reverse. The back-up camera feature works fine. However, The traffic feature and camera feature do not work at the same time, as there is only one place to connect a power cord on the back of the GPS body.
Is this a problem, or just how life works. I. E., pick the feature you want, you can't have both (?).
Thanks for any enlightenment!!

Funny you should mention backing up with a Garmin. I was given an old Garmin by a buddy to try - I had never used one before. When I park my truck at the barn I typically back down the lane to the road. The Garmin would always tell me to go the wrong direction but the very next turn would be correct. Because of that I did not trust the device. Then it occurred to me the Garmin did not know I was backing instead of driving forward.

I suppose they didn't think you would need both traffic problems and a backup camera at the same time. If you do, you must lead an interesting life.

Didnt you ever watch "Hooper" with Burt Reynolds. I was nicknamed that for a while years ago for backing up a road for about a mile!

No answer for you, but Ill say Garmin systems have costs quite few truck drivers who deliver to my warehouse a couple hundred each. Sends them the wrong way, and at night, when most come in to park, you cant see the sign that says No Entry for Trucks, or something like that. Ive tried to contact Garmin with no luck in resolving the issue, but the city has put up a new sign that is more reflective.
