Briggs Up Draft Carb question

I have a Briggs updraft Flo-Jet style carburetor. Part number 391065. It leaks just a tiny bit around the main jet tube and drips--two or three drops a day--out of the welch plug and weep hole. This leak does not affect the operation of the welder or motor. Is this worth fixing, or let it be until it worsens? The tube is probably not perfectly seated and lets the little drops of gas get by. Thanks for the advice.

If it is the one I am thinking of. Is it an updraft carb? Unit is
maybe close to 30 years old? You got to be really carefull taking them
apart. Need to remove that long brass jet tube that goes up the
middle. There is a big paper gasket that geos bad and the float jams.

Why don't you put an inline fuel shutoff in the fuel line and as long as it is off, you won't have to worry about the drips.
