I recently found two large steel shackles(?) in some parts I bought for my farm tractors but do not know what they are or even what they were used for. They seem to be fit over a ball-hitch but have a large bolt attached at the end. They are heavy gauged steel, nearly 8" long, 4" wide, 5/8" thick at the loop end and weigh a little over 3 pounds each. Each shackle is powder-coated black solid steel except for the small cross-bar which is a hollow steel pin welded into place.
Any help in identifying these things will be greatly appreciated.
