hot water heaters

Since dad has been long retired from milking cows, the old LP water heater has died. I would like to have hot water for the pressure washer and washing hands in the milk room/work shop, not a lot of water really needed any more. What would be a good alternative than putting in a new 50 gal lp water heater? I have seen 19/20 electric water heaters. Also have found used LP water heaters on craigslist. What do you guys use?

Never have figured out why one wants to heat hot water. LOL
A number of years ago I picked up a 10 gal one for around $100 and it did a very good job and I set it up so I could turn it on and off when I wanted to that way it did not eat power when I did not need it

How about a RV water heater...you can get a new 10 gallon one for around $150. I use one at my cabin and love it, never have run out of hot water and the pilot keeps the water hot even in the dead of winter.

Water heaters have gone out of sight on price. When we bought this place about 11 years ago I bought a 12 gallon electric for my shop and paid under 200. It has been great for what I have needed.

Just tried to find something like it, went to Lowes and Home Depots web site to see what was available. Nothing close under 3 to 400 bucks. Sure hope I don't have to replace it anytime soon.

Water heaters are everywhere. Good luck with your search trying to find a hot water heater.

Prices are high but you shouldn't have any problem finding one. From your description I think you need a much smaller one. Maybe a 30 gallon unit would work.

Technically speaking if it is not at absolute zero it has heat. Water at -100 degrees F is hotter than water at -200 degrees F. We all know what he is talking about.

My three piston ceramic CAT clone is rated for 130F inlet temperature .
What a difference lifting dirt and grease vs using cold 50F water .

It would seem to me that a lot of the time after the first start up its just bringing the hot water back up to temperature so it is heating hot water.

That would be a great application for an on demand LP water heater, uses no energy when not being used... Fairly cheap, bought mine off ebay Alaskan Tankless Water Heaters, have it in my cabin have used it for 6 years.

Lots of great ideas and I appreciate all of them. I found a 20 gal electric hot water heater on craigslist that has been used for about a year. I am going to get it today and get it hooked up in the next couple of days. Thanks again!!
