Husqvarna 128ld

My husky 128ld trimmer refuses to run even after a good carb
cleaning and rebuild. It's just not getting enough gas. I've
been looking for a replacement online but only seem to find off
brand replacements on eBay. Anyone ever used one? Or
know a source for a original zama carb?

We had similar symptoms with a weed eater leaf blower, it got harder and harder to start, and I was thinking of ordering a new carb for it. Then I started taking it apart and found that the bolts holding the jug to the crankcase had come loose. No wonder it got hard to start! I tightened them up and got it to run a little but I think the cylinder got scored when the jug was flopping around, so I think it's spart parts! It has run flawlessly for about 15 years and only cost about $60, so that's OK. I went and bought a Stihl, cost about twice that, but SWMBO likes it!

I've used several of the Ebay replacement carbs. Have had complete success with them.

Make sure the fuel lines are good, best to replace them just to be sure. There also may be a spark screen in the muffler that may be clogged.

I would bet that you have a crankcase leak. It could be the crank seals or the crankcase. The two cycle engines draw the fuel through the case so any leaks and the motor will not draw fuel. A new carb could easily not cure your problem.

You need to do a leak down test. You plug the intake and exhaust. The apply 5-6 SPI of pressure to the crankcase. If it leaks off very fast or you can not get it to pressurize then it will not run correctly if at all.
