Gas can with auto shutoff for Kaw mule.

I bought the mule 5 years ago and I have never been able to fill it with gas without over filling and getting some gas on pole barn floor. You can see from pic where gas has run down the side of tank.

Will all it took was the right gas can and a plastic hose extension on fill spout. When the end of the plastic extension gets covered with gas, no air gets into gas can, no more fuel gets added to tank. NO MORE OVER FILLING. I won't have to smell like gas, usually I would be wearing gas too.

Once again, when you can't buy what you want, have to make it.

That same kind of gas can works well on our JD zero turn without the extension. It used to be a problem filling it and running it over, but if I stick the spout down into the neck on the tank it works well, shuts off when full.

I need the extension to make it work. When it stops adding gas, the fuel level is about 1/2 inch from running out.

Is your fuel spout on the side like mine?

No, it's kind of on top but it has a long neck. You can't see the gas until it's full. The better mowers have a clear plastic tank with an opening in the frame so you can see the fuel level.

Figures that it would be the WORST "safety spout" design ever made...

Maybe you're not spilling any gas because none is coming out of the spout? That spout requires a minimum of three hands to operate.

y son would certainly agree with you! He threw a new one away after first attempted use!
