Most every tractor I have even gotten over the years looked as bad or worse. Shoot I have had to cut trees out to be able to get the tractor moved on some. Many if not locked up a simple ATF treatment and a carb clean and points clean and there up and running

Hello old,

I am hoping for the same. Gas tank is dry, I may need to flush it,
Next week's project,

Guido.

Out of all the ones I have gotten over the year only one had a gas tank problem because a dry tank means no rust or other junk most of the time. I have a Case VAC I got last year that i payed $300 for and winched it on the trailer and cleaned the point and put on a fuel line and battery and then drove it off the trailer less then 2 hours after I got it home

Hello Tom Bowman

Yep! The carburetor is a Zenith. Looks like it was dipped clean at one time. It was leaking gas, so I
took it home to rebuilt,

Guido.

I bought a TE 20 that looked worse than that one. The one I bought had the wiring burned off and had sat in a field for a couple of years and then in a guys hay barn for 8 or 10 years. At some time in it life it had a loader on it and someone took an axe and cut a hole in the hood over the gas cap and rad cap. I cleaned the carb and drained the coolant and then rewired it. I put a little gas in it to see if it had any leaks. My son shoved the gear shift lever up in the start to just bump the engine over and it took off. We quick shut it off as it did not have any coolant in it. I replaced the hood and used it for 8 to 10 years. I sold it to the guy across the road from me and he was using it and it caught on fire. I went and looked at it and after they got it they drilled a 1/4 inch hole in the gas cap. I just shook my head. He said his neighbor said the cap had to be vented. It still sets there. The fire don't look like it did anything other than the wiring

There is nothing like the bragging rights of when you can get something running after years of sitting out in the weeds.

Hello jeffcat,

I thought he had something younger then this! 6 volts too.Parked way back in the weeds. He has a nice 4020, and I thought he had may be a smaller newer thing. I told him to get a battery, when I get tbe carb done, will see what happens. Broken throttle also, not sure about the linkage to the governor. He also has a GMC top kick with a 6.2 4cycle Detroit Diesel. That will be a challenge. He wants to get it running, so he can sell it. It also ran when parked.....10 years ago,

Guido.

Don't you mean 8.2 Detroit. I have told to pull valve covers and make shure rack is not stuck. If it sits like do in Fords its a bugger to get back valve cover bolt out.

Hello Shawn Wallace,

YEs just hit the wrong number. The worst engine DD ever made period!

Guido.

Hello Shaun Wallace,

This one is also tight. Doing head gaskets on this set up is fun!I may not tackle it as the barter part on his side was none existent. I will try to get the little tractor going for him, as he is usually good with the scouts,

Guido.
