Can this broken hand wheel be fixed?

Have this hand wheel about 12 inches diameter. Broken at each end of each of the five spokes. Can this be brazed or is it scrap? From an old (about 1945) MOAK industrial table saw.

If it was me, I would find a pulley about the same size and with the same bore, then drill a hole through it-through the V groove-and swap the handle over to it.

Sounds like a good idea. Kind of like making a new hand wheel. Better than my plan of clamping a vice-grip on the shaft. Thanks.

the answer is yes, the amount your willing to spend having it welded properly is going to be the deciding factor of you much want your table saw to be original or usable.

If I had to I would. I have repaired flatbelt pulleys but as others mentioned cooling can be problematic as it shrinks.

I would braze it. It's not a critical application even if there are cracks in the braze. The proper way would be to tack it enough to use as a pattern to cast a new one.

I think if it were me I would search for a replacement off ebay. The shaft diameter and overall diameter is all that is important. It doesn't have to be a MOAK part.

If saving that wheel is a priority V the breaks, heat it some and tack with cast iron rods. Then finish the welds slowly so it doesn't get too hot.

If not you don't need the spokes. So turn up a centre and a plate of the same outside diameter, weld together and add handle

That would be fairly easy to weld with nickle or nomacast or to braze, which ever you are better at.
