Hello,

How many spark plug sockets do you guys have? I got 4. 7/8; 13/16; 3/4;, and 5/8. None of them fit the plug on this DR string trimmer? Metric may be?
I do know the size. Any of you run in to this. I guess I need to get out more often!

Hello Larry EC-OH,

Just for the record, the thread is not that old😎

Hello Larry,

First one on me 11/16". I don't know if they even make a spark plug socket that size, do you?

Guido.

Hello,

Sometimes an open end wrench will do just fine. I did a quick search on the web, and came up with two more sizes: 9/16 and 14 MM. The sizes seem endless. Like I said new one on me! But I guess I don't get out much?,

Guido.

Ii have found where the sparkplug size will be the same over sevral brands and then Bingo.... they throw one like this at you. Can also depend on where it was manufactured.

Snap On, Hazet, etc make them, have since the 1920's. Common size for European plugs and in aviation, nothing special about size.,

I normally use deep sockets as well. Have had too many problems with standard (ie., el cheapo!) spark plug sockets before. ...Then again, maybe it's operator error!

Hello Texasmark1

Its the socket size that got me. I had to use an 11/16" socket. New one on me. I did a quick search and I found two more socket sizes: 9/16" and 14 MM. Size of the socket sizes are endless?

Guido.

Hello kcm,

Spark plug socket should have a rubber insert to protect the plug from being damaged. Also prevents Billy Bob from using it on a bolt or nut with an air gun!

True, true....and so far, I admit I've been lucky. Also, I don't force anything or get into a rush. ...Not confident enough to go that fast. *lol* Usually when I pull a plug, I already have new ones to go in their place. I used to clean them, but in my pea brain, just seems like a little less to worry about when putting in fresh plugs.
